| July 9, 2006 | My Epic Four report has been posted. This one should be memorable, though perhaps not for reasons you would anticipate. If you're a Civ4 fan, you don't want to miss this one. |
| June 11, 2006 | My Epic Three report has been posted. Sorry for the drought. We ended up "waiting on the patch, which is due out soon" for about three months there. (Woops!) |
| February 13, 2006 | The first Civ4 event at RB sponsored by someone other than myself has just closed. Arathorn came up with a great concept for a simple variant. My report from this event has been uploaded. |
| February 6, 2006 | Although the reports are late being posted, I recorded the goings-on from my first two single player games of Civ4, on the retail version. These are not tournament games. Please check out these reports, now posted under the Chronicles section. |
| February 5, 2006 | I had a good time with Adventure Three. Check out my report! |
| January 16, 2006 | Running two tournaments for Civ4 was my idea. I wanted to keep The Epics isolated to Epic Speed games, but I did not want that to preclude playing events on other speeds, so it was a natural evolution. The Adventures are born! The first Adventure event to close is Adventure Two (which ran on a shorter clock than Adventure One). My Adventures section is NOW OPEN, with my first results posted. |
| December 28, 2005 | The Warpcore (my gracious webhost) was down for a couple of days, due to an accounting error. Seems to be straightened out now! Sorry for any inconvenience. |
| I have posted the entirety of my report for Epic One. I also posted my first entry under Chronicles. I intend to add more to that section, soon. I hope everybody is having a happy "end of the year" break. | |
| December 20, 2005 | I am posting my Epic One report. I don't expect to have all of it up tonight, so if you are reading this on the date it was posted, consider yourself warned. I'll try to get the rest up by tomorrow night, if I can. |
| December 20, 2005 | I would like to explain some of the changes I've made since the last time I launched a new page. |
| First, I've increased the font sizes and begun to optimize my site for larger resolutions. I've maintained backward compatibility to 800x600 resolution, but if you are running lower than that, then some things may not look good. I am now personally running 1280x1024 resolution on my new Viewsonic Extreme Gamer VX924 at maximum resoluton and refresh rate. ... Frankly, I can't even read the tiny print from my Civ3 site! I'm generally slow to advance to new technology, so if I've finally moved up, I figure most other users have, too. So I'm optimizing the site for 1024 or higher resolution. For better or for worse! | |
| I used to maintain "dialup friendly" conditions because, well, I was on dialup! Broadband has finally come to my rural area, and this too impacts my site. I've increased the number of pictures I will put on each page of my reports. The pics are still compressed JPEGs, though, so this is probably still one of the more dialup-friendly sites around. The idea is to make things better for most users (now including myself) without shutting out low end users. I hope that you are happy with these compromises! | |
| December 19, 2005 | Welcome to the Dawn of Civilization! |
|
New beginnings offer exciting times. The possibilities are wide open. Imagination grips you by the hand and pulls you in to the undiscovered country of the future. All is new and full of wonder. Worlds await exploration.
If you are new to my writings, then you may notice the simple, almost barren state of my site. No panels, no plug-ins, no music, no frills, no slick marketing. I put this together with a text editor and an image handler: simple tools for a simple purpose, to communicate about my gaming experiences. There is no hit counter (I don't even keep track). There are no advertisers, no revenue streams, no hidden agendas. The only things you will find here are a bunch of words strung together in semi-coherent fashion. Proceed at your own risk! - Sirian |
