Dawn of Civilization, Sirian's writings for Sid Meier's Civilization IV

Epic One

To open, I moved my warrior northeast on to the hill. Wheat was spotted, but I would have had to give up fresh water and add more water plots to the city if I moved, and I decided I did not want to go that route. So I founded Paris on the start plot. With Cows and Stone on hand, and all this jungle, I opted for a growth-oriented opening: Worker First(TM), research set to Animal Husbandry. With that, we are underway!
My warrior continued exploring to the northeast. He popped up a hut and got maps, revealing the Mongols to our east.
Mongols. Khan. (I chose the opponents for the game, so I knew who we would be facing, but you can find out that info just by checking the top five cities display. I didn't know who would be where. "Khan next door means early war." Or at least you had better be prepared for one.)
The first civ I actually made contact with was Azteca.
Montezuma hanging out near the gold, of course.
3480BC: Buddhism is FIDAL. (Founded In a DistAnt Land) Must be Gandhi's doing. (This is why I decided not to chase religion.)
3440BC: Met Washington. France and America, a match made in heaven.
3120BC: Met Alexander. He gave me the evil eye.
After researching Animal Husbandry, I went for Hunting (to build a Scout, to prepare for Archery). After training my Worker, I started a Warrior. In 2880BC, the worker finished the Pasture and I swapped production from warrior over to Scout, hoping to get a scout out in time to pick up some huts.
2600BC: Pop a hut just west of Paris (with the scout), learn Pottery! Meet Gandhi, hanging out near all the sheep.
IBT (In Between Turns) 2600BC: Lions nearly eat my Scout!
He lived, but it's going to be so long to heal him back up, that I may not get any more huts! Darn it.
2560BC: Hinduism founded in Tenochtitlan. Paris trains the rest of that Warrior I had started earlier, starts Barracks. My worker builds a Farm. 2520BC: Montezuma turns Hindi.
A jungle has already encroached on the clearing around Paris. Arrgh. And look at that scout! 0.0 Health! All but dead.
2480BC: Discover Mining, start on Masonry (To collect the Stone! To build the Pyramids. (To sound like Gargoyle race from Ultima VI and later!))
2440BC: Lions nearly eat our new Warrior, despite +75% terrain bonus from jungle hills.
2400BC: Finally, we meet the Great Khan.
He says his horde can beat my horde. I have a feeling he's going to test that theory some day.
