My FP.
My core. Looks odd with all that irrigation, but them's the rules for this event.
Being Agricultural sure helps out in the desert.

Ruh roe. Good thing I had made at least minimal preparations for war. This was going to be hairy.
When I covered up my iron and kicked off my golden age, the AI moved its targetting to Richborough. I shifted a lot of units forward, leaving a bunch of cities in the back lines completely empty. Not my favorite move, but what choice did I have? They had thrown the kitchen sink.
I managed to amass a worthy defense before they got their units into attack position. Good thing they didn't build a lot of horse units with the horses I traded them.
I was actually yelling at my monitor for the first four turns of this war. My luck was just short of awful. Around about this time, it started to even out and I quieted down.
That archer attacks my warrior on the hill and loses 0-4, among other things. My pike on the gems also holds. These incredible events balanced out some rather unlikely wins in the first turns for the AI. From here on, I had fair results and actually enjoyed the war.
After letting them bash their heads against my cities, and against my growing pile of trebuchet units, I had built enough knights to go on the offensive.

My force was split, about two thirds in the west, one third in the east.
Well what do you know. With help from Palace prebuild and my golden age, I did get Smiths at Augusto.
I tried to extend my gains in the east using my smaller force there, but failed.
Doing better in the west, though.
I've now taken all three exposed cities under size 7. And judging by the awful results I got going up against muskets in a size 8 city, I'm about done with my attacks. Time to consolidate my gains.
