Augustadorum looks like my only hope for self-built wonders. Would be nice to nab Smith's there. Or Bach. Can fall back to Magellan.
What's my game plan here? Well, I'm not sure yet. One turn in front of another, followed by the next.
Well, this is interesting. The Carthaginians just attacked an Egyptian settler pair, picking up two slaves.
Between that and some running blockades, I kept the AI's from poaching anything on the western side. I could not prevent losing one site in the east to a Carthaginian galley.
Note that Byblos has fallen.
I was slow to build curraghs this game. Hey, this is only my second time starting a game of any sort under the second expansion.
That's my second curragh. The first one, built from Alesia, sailed around that island before it was settled and is now circumnavigating the continent, clockwise. This is the second, built from the capital, and I'm now in contact with all but England.
I had a trade opportunity here, with the Egyptians not in contact with these new AI's yet, so I took it.
Before too long, I had a harbor up, then sold goods to Carthage for tech.
I tried to dash across the channel to England with my second curragh, but it sank. So I built a galley.
Now I've met everybody. I did minsci into Polytheism and Monarchy, and would do my own research into Feudalism, but otherwise bought all techs, at 2fer or better prices.
Say what? Two turns for a religious civ? That must be broken. I halted my first session here and emailed T-hawk. He replied that no, that's a new design "feature". Really? Hmm.
