The end of the Persian Despotism. You can tell from what I'm building how sad my infrstructure is.

I've got three core cities on fresh water. Everything else is badly lagging. Oh, finally some good luck. I draw a short anarchy.

Welcome to the new Persian Republic. Yes, we are still broke, but at least there is more food and shields coming in.

Notice the size of the stack in Ergili. My forces are being moved forward.
Oh, look at that. No horsies and no iron for poor Hammurabi. Guess he should have thought of that before he launched a ruthless sneak attack at Pearl Harbor! Erm... I mean, Antioch.

Hello!

Greetings!

Welcome to the Persian Empire. Cease and desist that untidy resistance, and we will allowing you to work your farms once again.

Ten turns, a few more city captures and another dozen leaderless elite victories later, Babylon is burned to the ground.

Now check it out. Both Ninevah and Ellipi have survived the war! I had built two regular warriors apiece, whipped walls in both spots, whipped libraries in both spots, and post-revolution, cash-rushed regular spearmen in both spots. The horseless, ironless Babs never even tried to attack them. Ha! Whodathunkit.
The Babs did buy iron from somebody late in the war, but too late to do much for them other than kill off two more of my elites.
