Sirian's Great Library - Strategies for Civilization III

RBCiv Epic ThirtyTwo

In 1580AD, one redlined enemy rifle killed 22hps worth of units in a row. That was 0-for-22 on my part. This run spawned an Aztec leader.
When I finally beat the rifle, my rifle spawned a leader for me! (My second).
I used him to form an army, and used that army to defeat the longbow guarding the Aztec leader. Easy come, easy go, for the Aztecs. I started the Academy in my capital and the Epic in my Cop/Newton city.
Took me 22 more turns to capture all of the Aztec homeland. This did not eliminate them, leaving them with a captured Greek island city and the island city off the coast of Zululand they had taken from poor Shaka.
Hoover was built in Washington. My lone scientist is almost done with Radio. I have amassed a goodly bit of dough by now.
My next opponent was the Carthaginians. I also opened a minor front in Japan.
Carthage had wiped out most of Babylon, taking the Babs down to three mainland cities left, plus islands, before I moved in. I wiped out Carthage down to two island cities over the next 100 years, taking one of the last two cities in exchange for 20 turns of peace. My forces on the Carthaginian front were thinning as I spent more resources in Japan.
Here's my civilization in 1794AD, as Miniaturization has just come in. There wasn't much use for aluminum without rubber. Can't build armor. So my research path would be Computers, Miniaturization, Genetics, Ecology, Recycling. How often do you see THAT? Ha!
Note that SETI is being built in the same city as Cop and Newt. Ha! Used to do that all the time in Civ1, especially the Colossus/Cop combo, but there's little point for it in Civ3, with research such a dud in the game design. I really hope Civ4 gets back to having research be a vital option. Some MOO1-style multi-threaded, variable-tech-trees elements would be nice, too! MUCHO replay value added, predestiny removed, and strategic depth enhanced. (Why did MOO3 have to be such a dud? *sigh*)
I bought the offshore platforms at a couple of fishing village. Wallah! Insta-production. The offshore platforms and manufacturing plants are something else I miss from earlier civs, which is why I made the change in my Sirian's Tweaks mod to bring them back into play.
